Let's break it down
What is a movement coach?
You've heard of personal trainers, Pilates teachers, & dance instructors, but a movement coach? That's something a little different — and a lot more whole.
More than a workout
A personal trainer counts your reps. A movement coach asks why those reps matter to you. The difference isn't just semantic — it changes everything about how we work together.
Movement coaching is a holistic approach to fitness that treats your body as the full, complex, story-carrying thing it is. It draws from multiple disciplines — strength training, Pilates, dance, functional movement, and even healthcare — to build a practice that actually fits your life.
Where traditional fitness often focuses on aesthetics or performance metrics, movement coaching focuses on how you feel, how you move through the world, and what your body needs to support the life you want to live.
Traditional trainer vs. movement coach
Why I call myself a movement coach
I have certifications in personal training and a degree in Dance Theater. I'm completing a Mat Pilates Certification and an Active Life Professional program that bridges healthcare and fitness. I've worked in studios, gyms, universities, and dance academies.
No single title covers all of that — and more importantly, no single title captures the way I actually work with people. I bring every piece of my background into every session. That's what makes it movement coaching.
Your body is telling your story. My job is to listen, and then to help you write the next chapter.
How I work
Whole-person approach
Your physical health doesn't exist in isolation. We consider your energy, your history, your goals, and your life.
Multi-discipline toolkit
From Pilates to social dance to strength training — I pull from whatever serves you best, not whatever fits a single method.
Adaptive and collaborative
Your needs change. Your goals evolve. Movement coaching evolves with you, session by session.
Ready to experience it?
The best way to understand movement coaching is to try it. Let's find an approach that works for your body and your life.
